About this service

The free photo geotagging tool at geotagging.digitalizer.uk ("the Service") is provided by Digitalizer Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15267581). By using this Service, you agree to these terms.

What it does

The Service lets you add GPS coordinates (EXIF metadata) to your own photos. All processing happens in your browser: photos are read, modified, and downloaded locally, and are never uploaded to our servers. The "look up address" feature sends only the address text you type to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to retrieve coordinates.

Free service - no guarantee

The tool is provided free of charge and "as is". We make no guarantees that the geotagged output will be accepted by any particular third-party platform, nor that adding GPS metadata will improve your search rankings. You are responsible for verifying the GPS data you apply and for complying with the rules of any platform on which you publish the photos.

Your photos and rights

You confirm that you own or have the right to modify the photos you upload to the tool. Digitalizer Ltd never sees, stores, or processes your photos on our servers - they stay in your browser. You retain all rights to your photos.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to create misleading location metadata in order to deceive consumers, violate platform policies, or commit fraud. Automated or bulk abuse of the Service is not permitted. We reserve the right to restrict access to anyone misusing the Service.

Your data

If you provide your email address, we use it solely to follow up with related tips and our paid services. We do not sell your data to third parties. For full details, see our privacy policy.

Intellectual property

The design, branding, and code of the Service remain the property of Digitalizer Ltd. The Service uses the open-source libraries piexifjs, JSZip, and FileSaver.js under their respective licences.

Third-party services

The "look up address" feature uses OpenStreetMap's Nominatim API. Nominatim has its own usage policy and privacy terms. We only send the address text you type; no personal data or photo data is included.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Digitalizer Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service (which is zero, as the Service is free).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
